Wow it's been a long time since I updated this blog, sorry!
I had to share this with you though.... Today I went to see my Grandad who is moving house this week at the age of 91. He is finally down sizing to a bungalow and a more manageable garden. My wonderful Gran passed away a couple of years ago, but they have lived in this house for 25 years and gathered up a life times worth of bits and bobs which all had to be sorted through. So you can imagine my delight when my mum presented me with a big ice cream tub full of shells, fossils and there nestling at the bottom some sea glass.
When I got home and spread it out on a tray, it looked for all the world just like all the bits I would have picked up myself after a day on the beach. Except the contents of this box had been collected by my gran many years before and put away in a shed. I had no idea I had got my beach combing, sea glass loving magpie genes from her, but there was no better place from where to get them.
Needless to say the glass in the collection is just for my enjoyment I may even make myself some jewellery from it, but if you ever find a sentimental bit of sea glass from a loved one, or from a special holiday, then I can make it into keepsake jewellery for you, just ask.
